WB to make Where the Wild Things Are

Variety reports that Warner Brothers is set to make a live action version of Maurice Sendak's classic children's book Where the Wild Things Are. The best part about the whole deal is that they chose Spike Jonze to direct with Tom Hanks is producing. Maurice Sendak is happy with the script and the choice of director and he will be heavily involved in the project himself. Not much else in known but I suspect that it will be a heavy mix of live action and CG to realize much of the imagery. Production is supposed to start later this year.
