Casino Royale & Happy Feet

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted. Life really has been keeping me busy, which is a good thing I guess. Over the long Thanksgiving weekend last week I was able to take in two movies at the theaters, both of which I throughly enjoyed. Casino Royale was everything I had hoped it would be any more! I had really high expectations for this film and it delivered on all accounts. I would even put my self out on a limb and say that this is one of the best bond films ever made. Daniel Craig is a superb actor and pulls off Bond better than I think anyone expected him to. This was easily the best film I have seen in theaters this year. (And from what I can tell I wasn't the only one who thought this, it seems to be the best review movie in wide release of the year according to rottentomatoes.com) I can't wait to see him carry the series for at least the next few years. Below is a video of the excellent opening titles for the film...

In addition to Casino Royale, we say Happy Feet with all the kids in our family. I must say that from the original ads for the film I wasn't very interested in it. As Its release grew closer there was something that drew me to it. I can't put m finger on what that was exactly but I am grateful for it because I really liked this film. It was not only a lot of fun but it had a great story as well. The music was lively and it had the feel of an old fashioned musical at times. I read somewhere where someone likened it to a Busby Berkley style musical, which I would say is a complimentary assessment. It is certainly worth checking out if you are at all interested. It's not just a good animated film, its a good film period.
