Mulholland Drive: Universal Studios "Halloween Horror Nights"

With Halloween being the next big holiday I ran across this online and thought I should share. I love Universal. My trip to Universal in 6th grade is what set me down the path I am still on today. Here is some info about the Halloween revamp from Spielbergfilms.com:

Universal Studios Hollywood will be unveiling their annual "Halloween Horror Nights" starting, fittingly enough, this Friday, October 13. The ghoulish festivities will continue Oct. 14, 20-21, 27-28 and on cap off with a final night on Halloween, October 31.

This year's theme will be focused around a production by "The Director," a mysterious and demented horror genre auteur who will convert Universal's working studio backlot and the theme park's most popular rides and attractions into terrifyingly realistic settings for an intense and enveloping manifestation of mayhem. Actors and guests will intermingle seamlessly for an immersive experience that will shatter pre-conceptions, transcending notions of horror genre theatrics and "Halloween maze" experiences to take visitors to a state of extreme dread, shock and terror.

For the first time in the studio's 93-year history, guests will be able to disembark from studio trams and walk among the historic sets of the Universal backlot, birthplace of the horror genre.

For fans of Steven Spielberg attractions on the studio tour, you won't want to miss out on walking through temporarily revamped setpieces (courtesy the mad eye of The Director) on tour stops such as the "War of the Worlds" airplane disaster scene. Spielberg's chilling moment from the film, along with Universal Studios staples like the "Psycho" house, will play a central role in The Director's Universal Studios Hollywood's "Halloween Horror Nights" production, a scenario that calls for guests to be transported into eerie, darkened sets while subjected to disorienting and unnerving interactive experiences.

Along with the "War of the Worlds" stop on the tram tour, a park Spielberg classic will also be temporarily revamped to fit The Director's mad visions. "Jurassic Park: The Ride" will become "Jurassic Park – In the Dark." If you thought the dinos run amok in "Jurassic Park" were scary enough in the day, wait until you see what Universal has in store for studio guests during October!

Universal's "Halloween Horror Nights" comes to life for seven nights over the course of three consecutive weekends: October 13-14, 20 21 and 27-28, and 31. The event will begin nightly at 7:00 p.m.
